DIRECTIONS to Soul Tree Farm: 12920 Slate Creek Rd. 530 273-2481
home workshops facilitators Take H 49 Northward to Grass Valley / Nevada City, CA ( approximately 20 miles from Auburn, CA and H80).

Exit at Gold Flat/ Ridge Rd in GV/NC. Make a Left onto the freeway overpass and onto Ridge Rd.
Stay on Ridge Rd.( it goes upward) for approx. 2 miles
to the STOP sign, ( you will be opposite the parking lot for Nevada Union HS).

Go Right under the iron archway which is marked Via Vista (don't be fooled by the first Via Vista archway - there are two - the right one is at the stop sign)

Via Vista will quickly change its name to Deer Park Drive. Stay on Deer Park Drive for approximately 1 mile.
You will come to a litttle island of mail boxes and shrubs, at that point make an easy Right onto Slate Creek Rd. (do not be confused by going Left on Slate Crk Rd.- it goes two ways)

If you have gone right, you will see to your right a big white colonial house that looks like something from "Gone With the Wind."

Continue on Slate Creek Rd., even though you will see forbidding signs saying Stop Private Road, no entry or else.
Ignore these signs and drive through with abandon. Enjoy the opportunity to defy signs. (Relatively slow abandon would be kindly).
At about a half mile you will see a red banner. This will be 12920 Slate Creek Rd.

Go left just before the banner and follow the driveway. There is a designated parking area. Welcome. Enjoy your stay.

WHAT TO BRING :
It is useful to bring a journal, writing pad and pen.
We usually enjoy sharing pot lucks. So, if you are able, please bring a dish you enjoy to share.
We will supply plates, utensils etc.
When choosing clothes, check the weather and hope for the best yet expect the worst. In other words be prepared for the wild as well as the tame. We have a fairly diverse landscape.
Wear comfortable warm or cool clothes, depending on the weather.
Wear comfortable sturdy shoes. You may want to bring extra shoes for creek walking.
Paths are not rigorous but if you need extra support a walking stick may be helpful.
You might want a towel in case we go into the creek.
Bring a hat for the sun and /or sun glasses. Sun screen is a good idea too.
If you are bug sensitive, bring your favorite, preferably natural, bug spray.
